Chris Cockburn reinvented himself as an artist, after doing a Foundation Course in Art and Design at the 'City Lit' London. All his work reflects his love of nature, and he has been fortunate to observe much of his subject matter at first hand.His colourful linoprints not only show a little of how each creature either blends into, or contrasts with its environment, but also its sheer beauty. 170 Zoology linoprints, all numbered in limited editions of about 26 have been completed (more underway) attempting to show something of the loveliness, range and diversity of the animal kingdom. All measure 12" X 12" and are printed in 7 - 12 colours, on very good quality paper, using linseed oil based inks (they should be as long lasting as oil paintings). Most prints are produced from a single block of lino. 
Chris's work is highly individual, due at least in part to his use of a delicate combination of cutting and caustic soda etching.
